What is Play Therapy?

Play Therapy uses a child's natural language of play, to address the issues or struggles they are experiencing in everyday life. Children have not fully developed cognitively or emotionally, so they are not always able to express themselves verbally. Thus they project what is going on in their minds and worlds through their preferred medium of toys. In this safe and secure playroom environment with specially chosen toys, Laura helps the client to identify their feelings and express them in socially appropriate ways, while also learning coping skills to utilize in everyday situations.
